undocumented
Product: Apache httpd-2
Version: 2.5-HEAD
Hardware: All
URL: https://httpd.apache.org/lists.html#http-dev
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P3
Component: Documentation
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
The Apache HTTP Server Development Main Discussion List section of the Apache
HTTP Server Mailing Lists page starts with:
> The [email protected] mailing list is used for discussions about the
> actual development of the server.
At 2026-05-16T12:37:22, I sent an email titled “Re: Poll: Auto-closing "old"
tickets”, which resulted in a failure notice which explained that mail to that
list "Must be sent from an @apache.org address or a subscriber address or an
address in LDAP."
I was sending from my Gmail address, so the failure matches that policy. I find
that policy acceptable, but it should be indicated in the list's presentation.
My message went through after I subscribed to the list.
Note that a similar issue with the docs mailing list
(https://github.com/apache/httpd-site/issues/25) was solved by loosening
restrictions.
