Comment:

 This ticket is not about the column type but about date functions such as
 TIMESTAMPDIFF()
 http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/date-and-time-
 functions.html#function_timestampdiff
 which allows you, for example, to easily select only the objects which
 have been modified during the last X days or performing a join between two
 tables ensuring that the difference between their `modified` property is
 less than X days.
