 I've now opened a ticket about the lack of documentation of
 Doctrine::HYDRATE_NONE [http://trac.doctrine-project.org/ticket/1497
 #1497]

 I cannot understand why you would have to have all the PKs for array
 hydration or no hydration.  When the PK is needed (for object hydration)
 then an exception is the right solution. There already is an exception
 raised if a PK of a JOINed table isn't selected.

 If you wish for me to go over the code, please refer me to relevant
 sections as I don't know it.
