I think the blog post makes it clear that for a generic solution like a
pager class SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS is a bad idea.
As for the queries, I do not know them in detail, but would probably be a
good idea if you should take the time to illustrate the queries that are
generated vs. the ones you would expect. Then you might not have to stop
using the Pager because things will get fixed.
