I am not a fan of zend either. It always bites me sooner of later. In this case I installed it yesterday for CCS and it bite me this morning by core dumping while doing a pear upgrade of horde project libraries. I just disabled it, updated, and reenabled. What a pain. Reading ahead, I've NEVER seen noticeable preformance improvements, possible because of the types of programs that I'm running. >> From tucows focus is on the big plus being performance, no issue, we can > accelerate code ourselves in various ways, and open-source if needed. > I don't know what there is to hide in this CCS code, and I'm not going > to argue for or against, I'm simply disappointed. > We're not going to use this CCS until parts we would need (domains only) > become some sort of open-source. I agree with the opensource focus and sent an email earlier hinting to the idea, not because it is opensource but because it has so many advantages, none of which are price. > We prefer to know what we're using and deploying in production > environments and don't like closed-source where we simply don't know > what's going on. I don't like the opensrs perl code so for now I'll be trying to go with the php CCS although I agree totally with you on the benefits of the opensource philosophy and results that keep the internet running. ed . > Just my thoughts... > > Best regards, > > G.J. > > _______________________________________________ > domains-gen mailing list > [email protected] > http://discuss.tucows.com/mailman/listinfo/domains-gen > _______________________________________________ domains-gen mailing list [email protected] http://discuss.tucows.com/mailman/listinfo/domains-gen
