it is not an excuse it is an explanation. we would have liked things to 
be different. we made our feelings known. loudly. we were not 
successful.

to be clear, I would be happy to make you comfortable in vancouver, 
introduce you to people who you may want to meet there and help you 
with the process. don't turn a well-intended offer of help into a 
sleazy political scene.
