I set up a new company last year and chose its name solely because it was available as a company name and as a .com domain name. In fact, if you choose any dictionary word apart from things like sex and porn they are all available in some TLD somewhere simply because not everywhere speaks English! However, very few people bother, they would rather have asfasfaffafasrtwrt.com than home.it (which is actually available for registration).
