Hi folks,

I acquired a domain name that had some nameservers defined for it, that
are being used by some other domains. I'd like to delete the
nameservers. However, when I try to do so, I get the error:

"Unable to delete nameserver: Nameserver deletion failed at registry:
532 Domain names linked with name server."

I also tried changing the IP addresses of the nameservers to 127.0.0.1,
but received the message:

"Unable to modify nameserver: Unroutable ip address: 127.0.0.1"

I don't want to point it to a routable IP address, lest someone hijack
the other domains.

Is there anything I can do, assuming I can't compel strangers to change
their nameservers? I think NSI (or VeriSign?) had a way of switching
nameservers of domains that depended on expiring domains into "Lame
Delegation" nameservers. Is there any way we can force that to happen?
I don't want to receive abuse reports for unauthorized domains using
nameservers with host names under my domains.

Sincerely,

George Kirikos
