OK. I have a question:

There is a section in the "Automated Daily Renewal Reminder for <today>"
headed "The following names were not renewed and will be deleted today:"

What exactly gets included in this section?

The domain name that I have been very frustrated about was never included in
that section, and now another domain name (surprisingly enough, owned by the
same registrant), I have just discovered, has just been taken from my
reseller account today (I had calculated that this second one should have
been deleted on December 21 or 22 and the first one was taken on day 37
after expiry) without ever being included in that section.

I had thought that the names get deleted on or about day 40 after expiry. If
they are always done on day 37, I could live with that, but the fact that
they are "dropped" (or scooped up by Tucows) on a any random day is what
frustrates me.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, Tucows: If you are going to take ownership of these
domains, at least let us know when!

In answer to Maxine's earlier question, until this year, I was 100%
successful in getting a name that had expired, either previously owned by my
client or not. Each one had cost me about $10.00US and I had sold each one
for $15.00. I don't think buying a name previously belonging to your client
and selling it back to that client for anything more than your normal rate
is ethical. Now I have to put in big letters on every expiry notice "IF YOUR
NAME IS NOT PAID BY THE EXPIRY DATE, THE $15.00 RENEWAL FEE GOES UP TO
$100.00 (or more)". Maybe at least that will get them paying on time.

Brian
