Thanks for commenting, Elliot. April 6. 2007 There's a few places i've seen on the net offering lower .net prices than they charge for their .com's. Retail and wholesale. I know of one retail/wholesale site that charges 5.49 per .net for their preferred customers. It looks like verisign currently charges $3.50 per .net and $6 per .com. And then there's the 25 cent Icann private jet fees tacked on top of each .net and .com.
Unless there's extra costs that are there, it would seem reasonable to me that our reseller costs at Opensrs for .net should be lower than .com. As i've written numerous times,... for a number of reasons, i'm happy with paying a premium or higher fees to have my names at Opensrs/Tucows. In this instance, i'm thinking it would be reasonable that the same % gross profit margin per domain that is in place for .com be in place for .net. Maybe i'm missing something. ? This UPI article below states: Starting Oct. 15, VeriSign's charge to domain registrars such as GoDaddy and TuCows, which typically handle customer domain registration, will rise to $6.42 from $6 for .com domains and to $3.85 from $3.50 for .net domains, it said in a statement. http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/Business/2007/04/06/verisign_to_raise_com_net_f ees/ Also, from the pir.org site (they run .org): they state they receive $6 for each .org. I don't know if icann dings them 25 cents on top. I'll guess, yes. josh on 4/6/07 4:35 PM, elliot noss at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > happy to help here. .net pricing has been different than .com for > nearly 2 years iirc. all of the pricing was ALWAYS very public. > > afaik, no one in the industry differential prices them right now. > > On Apr 6, 2007, at 4:21 PM, jm wrote: > >> >> Tx for the quick reply, Adam. >> >> I'm asking about current Opensrs pricing, not future pricing. >> >> Why are .net's priced the same as .com's at Opensrs?
