I suspect they are doing the old game that NetSol used to do where
they do not honor the existing expiration date when a domain is
transferred in, instead they make their own expiration one year from
the transfer in date, then if you don't pay up before the year is out,
they take control of the domain.

My advice it to just transfer it out of there as fast as you can, and
by doing so you will regain the real time, plus one year, left on the
domain registration.
