Hi,

This is the list of things that may be wrong if you receive the Socket
error. The error, Unable to establish socket, is usually caused when
trying to establish the TCP connection between yourselves and OpenSRS.
This could be caused by a few things:

1) In the conf file, you are connecting to the wrong host, or port. For
the live system, the REMOTE_HOST entry in the OpenSRS.conf file should
be set to 'rr-n1-tor.opensrs.net' and the REMOTE_PORT to 55000.

2) If there are any kind of routing problems between your network and
ours, this could be causing the problem. From the server, if you do a
traceroute to the hostname mentioned above, this will determine if that
is the cause.

3) If the nameserver that you are resolving off of is not returning
correct information when trying to lookup our system. In this case, you
will need to contact the administrator of the resolving nameserver. To
see if your local nameservers are resolving properly, try doing a
"nslookup" of our registration server using a computer on a remote (ie:
totally separate) network than your own, and compare the IP address to
what you get when doing a "nslookup" on the server machine.

4) If you are behind a firewall, you will need to ensure that you have
allowed access out from the IPs that the server is running on to port
55000 of our system, as well as back-traffic that is in an established
state from us. If you are able to traceroute to us, but can't telnet to
rr-n1-tor.opensrs.net on port 55000, then this is likely the reason.

If you continue to have trouble, please send the link to your
verify_install.cgi script to Reseller Support.

Thanks
