I think you may have it with the VID_.... and PID_.... below.

Could unplugging and putting back in again quickly cause a second
registry entry to be created because it's having to still keep track of
the first unplugged one for a little bit and needs a distinct entry for
the new one?

That may mean that your three Belkin above aren't really the three items
of hardware you have;  there's only two distinct product IDs, for
example.

Getting details of what's plugged in *now* would help clear this up.

Anyone know what the 32-bit number is?  E.g. the 1B7495D4 in
