Hello, My name is Patrick and I have just subscribed to this mailing list. I've been meaning to for years but only just got around to it.
I have been using Linux-based OSes on personal systems for about ten years, mainly on laptops as my day-to-day desktop OS. My current and fairly long-standing desktop distro of choice is Kubuntu (14.04 at present), though openSUSE was my gateway drug and I prefer Debian on servers. I've also been using OpenWRT lately. I have dabbled lightly in several of the other mainstream binary distros over the years. I am currently a Computer Science undergraduate at Plymouth University, but Poole is my home town. Allegedly I am a 'mature' student. I have a lapsed interest in 3D printing. I built a RepRap Prusa Mendel a few years ago, but it has mostly been gathering dust recently. I intend to pay it some attention this summer. I am sometimes a recreational cyclist.
