Surely if it supports AA screen mirroring then just mirror your favourite
mp3 player app onto the main screen?

Poweramp was always a favourite when I was on android.

With the rise of AA and CarPlay, the sooner manufacturers stop shipping out
of date, poor quality infotainment systems, the better. Just give me a big
screen I can mirror to.
