We are looking for someone with loads of Oracle experience not just on the DB but also on the middle tier (10gAS/WebLogic). This is in the initial stage of planning so we are looking for a Sr. Consultant with hands-on experience who can lead the efforts starting with planning, mentoring and leading the efforts. There are several other DBA’s onsite that will be working with in this project. * * Job Responsibilities:** * * The role and responsibilities of the database administrator contracted to assist with the 11g upgrade project will include below § Upgrade 10G databases, Portal, Oracle identity management components (OAM, OIM, OIF), Forms, Reports, and Discoverer to 11g. § Create Service Requests (S/R) with Oracle for troubleshooting 11g upgrade related problems. § Assist and mentor DBA in the management, operations and monitoring of 11g databases, Portal, and application server § Determine and implement 11g best practices to achieve optimum performance for databases, Portal and oracle application server. This includes documenting the Oracle certified version of the Oracle 11g components. Skills & Experience Required (MUST HAVE):** * * § A minimum of *8 years *of Oracle Administration experience in Oracle DB, 10gAS, Forms, Reports, Discoverer and Portal. § Must have successfully migrated at least ONE project from an earlier version of Oracle environment to Oracle 11G version of Oracle environment (DB, Middle tier – WebLogic, Portal, Forms, Reports, Discoverer OID, OIM etc.) § Must have worked in UNIX/Linux environment. Experience in SUN Solaris is a plus. § Very good communication skills and documentation skills are must. § Must be a team player and work with other DBA’s.
