I was planning on getting Charles Petzold's API book and starting with
the nuts and bolts. Haven't decided on just the API book and using C+
+; or, adding his C# book and going that route (I haven't had any
exposure to C# yet, but just got the book loaned to me for a couple of
weeks).

I have a trial of VS2010 Pro (expires very soon) and the 4 2010
Express Editions (not sure what libs I'll be missing), so I have
language options.

I'll ask newbie questions as they come up, so please be patient with
me.
