I'll reformulate this : Type "gg?" -> you get the gg search description & syntax. If you add dhr|gg /ifl %s site:msdn.microsoft.com inurl:dhtml|DHTML reference at Microsoft|Lookup a DHTML item reference on the MS site|Computers in localaliases.txt and then type "drh?", unfortunately you don't get its description & syntax. It simply does the search on "?". I propose to change this behaviour, so that "drh?" would pop the description & syntax. But if so, how to handle "???" ? Should we interpret it as "give me the description & syntax on '??'" or do a null query on the alias "???" ? I think the simplest would be to rename "??" and "???" in aliases.txt. Hope I was clearer. :) > > > * Aliases, even when non-local (i.e. in aliases.txt), are > > mistakenly labeled as "[local]" in the DQSD menu. > > Oops! Good catch. Can you add a bug in the tracker? Is it when you add it to > localaliases.txt? Example : attached is the latest aliases.txt I CVSed today. See the last 2 lines ? Add them to your own aliases.txt, bang dqsd and... "?dhr" brings a correct description, with the title that is a hyperlink to the URL set in aliases.txt (or at least I *guess* it, because for some reason I haven't been able to click on the hyperlinks for a couple of months). Now, press F1, go to "computers", and you can see "<a href="http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/author/dhtml/reference/dhtmlrefs.asp">DHTML reference at Microsoft</a>" instead of just "DHTML reference at Microsoft" (see attached screenshot). Cheers, MLL
// aliases.txt
// ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
// This is where the default aliases are defined.
//
// You should *NOT* add your own aliases here. User aliases can be placed in the
// localaliases.txt file which will not be overwritten when a new version of the
// toolbar is installed.
//
// The format is as follows:
// shortcut | search command | link/menu text | description text | category
//
// Shortcuts that reference a function name only, have the menu text extracted
// from the function definition directly.
