You know what.. later on I was adding things to the localprefs.js file and I noticed I had the checkForUpdate flag in it and disabled... Please disregard my prior email... I dont know why the toolbar didnt initially come up.. but at least something as simple as closing it and reopening it seems to have fixed it...
