Hi Tom, > For the last number of months every time dqsd opened firefox > 2 for the first time I get an error in the search.htm, see > screenshot http://i2.tinypic.com/63weyqe.jpg
This type of thing happens to me primarily when I'm writing a new search that requires the use of <angle brackets>, an (&) ampersand, or it attempts to evaluate a variable that may not be set. Since I use so many (nearly a hundred) custom/local searches, I've faced this issue often enough to despise & recognise it. So, my first guess is that it's not a problem with DQSD per se, but a problem with one of your custom searches or in a prefs or settings file. When you upgraded, did you install COMPLETELY clean, or was there a local search or setting that was preserved? If so, try removing (back up to another folder, then REMOVE from the DQSD install folder) ALL of the local searches and settings - anything that isn't in the clean 4.x install. Then reload. I'll betcha it'll work. Then gradually add settings and searches back, one by one, reloading and testing, until it errs again. That will tell you what searches and settings are broken. Then fix it. ;) If you would like help correcting a specific search, please feel free to email me either here or offlist (local searches can have sensitive information or procedures in them).
