The Dark Angel had been called back, away from her solace in Myst Haven. Away from Grohn for the moment. It was easy for her to travel back and forth. Having the ability to change forms from one to another. She could be the plagued-infested rat, or a song bird, singing the sweet song of death itself. She now paced back and forth along the walls of the Iron Gate, a black crow. Those bright blue eyes that seemed to glow of their own accord watching the proceedings below. They were taking their own lives now. Was this what her Master wanted? To end so many lives? All she could do was watch. All she could do was make sure the right ones remained alive and those that were destined to go, to go. But she could feel something stirring within her as she watched the pair. The woman painting the man in an abstract manner. Then she herself donning the clothing of a clown and then dying. Who would notice the tragedy of their death? She glanced around at those milling about, without hope of ever getting out of this accursed thing. Only a few would make it out of this plague and she knew that there were some that were already on the other side, having escaped. She shook her head at the fact that none would notice the couple until much later. She spread her large black wings and flapped them, lifting into the air. She glided down to the ground and shifted forms into her long black velvet dressed form as she became somewhat human again. No one would pay attention to it. A hallucination to them in their diseased eyes. Those that burned were not her concern. Those that were suffering were hers to take care of. Those that needed a sweet face to look at once more. She strode to someone leaning against a building and kneeled before the man. She reached out with gentle fingers to him and stroked away the mud clumped hair around his face. He coughed, blood spilling from his lips, and then looked at the Dark Angel before him. "Lenori? Is that you? Oh my love... How did you get over here?" The Angel tilted her head to the side. She almost smiled to the man as he only saw his love. The one that he had been missing for so long. "I could not stay away from you. I had to come. No matter if it meant my own death." Sweet words, a sweet face, and a chilling touch that made the man numb and succumb to what he so long wished for. The Angel continued to stroke the face of the man until he closed his eyes and slumped within her arms. She could not help but allow a tear to streak down her cheek as she did this. He had loved so deeply and he had to go, had to leave this world and his love behind. She closed her eyes and held the man close to her. She whispered the name of her past love. The moment seemed to last forever. She then released the man and stood, leaving him to lean against the building once more. She turned, wiping the crystal tear that spilled down her cheeks away and then strode to the next one to be taken this night. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
