My last question regarding the AF gain control was too easy, so here's a
slightly more difficult one! Just started going through the alignment
procedure on this TR7 and have run into an odd one. The 13.695 MHz
oscillator can't be pulled higher than 13.375 MHz with L1005 on the PBT/Ref
board. I know that CR1001 is functioning as I can vary the frequency OK
with the PBT control, but can't adjust it to where it should be. Looks to
me like the xtal is simply oscillating at the wrong frequency. I've never
seen that kind of problem in a xtal before, but don't see any other
possibility at the moment. I'd appreciate your thoughts on this.
The 10V supply has been properly set and the 40 MHz oscillator frequency is
on the button. Test equipment is all properly-working commercial grade
stuff.
