I have two versions of the R7 service manual, one dated 1979, and a
newer one that have some updates in it, dated 12-80. The newer one is
sadly a copied one, so I do not have the copyright page and the date
shown there, I also miss some pages. The page numbering also differ
somewhat between the two versions.

My "original" Service manual has a copyright date of 1979, and many of the pages are dated 12/80. It would be interesting to know if James' manual has the "12/80" pages in it also? There are so many "12/80" pages that I don't think it's reasonable to assume that they really reflect modifications to the receiver circuitry. The number of "12/80" pages in mine would indicate a total redesign!! Perhaps the majority of those pages are nothing more than page number changes because Drake added a page or two near the front or maybe a renumbering of the card locations? Maybe the "12/80" pages are nothing more than "TR-7 manual" pages that have been renumbered to make them "R-7 manual" pages?
