All it really does is match the 50 ohm output impedence of your transmitter to the impedence it sees at the end of the coax. From the coax connector on, you still have all the SWR and heat loss due to dissapation. Good luck.


Both are actually considered the same thing in common usage. Personally, I consider a proper antenna tuner to be a device mounted at the antenna, which matches the antenna to the feed line.
