Kay, as Garey said 1N295 diodes are somewhat hard to find.. Your situation
was mine about a month or so ago. Found two sources online. Used
_www.surplussales.com_ (http://www.surplussales.com) Surplus Sales of
Nebraska...search upper left for the 1N295 and numerically down the page.
They wanted (and
got) $2 each...and then killed with the shipping. I ordered to have on
hand, as have four Drake items with derivatives of that board.

Subject continuation on the list said what was so critical about the 1N295,
I advised who really knows but that number does work.

A Drake list gent sent me two of the diodes to repair my MN4c that had the
same symptoms as your 2000.
An ohm check, and then an actual diode check using a 5 v drive showed both
as good, ...replaced both.
Fixed. I agree with Garey that it was probably the D1 but I was only going
to pull that board to get at once.
Good luck, 73's,Carl WD8NHK
