I have the 500 and 300 Hz filters in my TR7. I found the tuning to be a bit sharp with the narrow filter using the TR7 VFO, but with my DDS VFO the tuning is very slow and the filter is much easier to use. It doesn't ring any more or less than any other narrow filter I've ever heard and I haven't found the insertion loss to be a problem.
