Hi Jim, For removing sticky labels I have always used the spray-on lubricant WD-40. I have never experienced paint damage with this product. Just wash surface after use carefully with soap and warm water and dry thoroughly afterwards. They do actually mention on their UK website that it can be used for this purpose.
