This is the the essence of the method I have used for 40 years..and just
rplaced an original (still working) pair of finals in y original T4x.
Just don't forget to re-tweak the dip and load after connection to the
actual antenna system (ant, tuner, etc) The setting will change
slightly unless the antenna is perfect. This change is more apparent as
you go higher in frequency.
But no question--getting the preselector and plate tank dip done before
going to tx power is a MAJOR deal and saves alot of hvy, untuned current
draw by the tubes. They will readily draw 400mA untuned.
