Hi, Thanks guys for the great response. All very similar. :-) It's just what I did to my Yaesu FTDX-400 in 1972. The thing got so hot that you could fry an egg on it. Then I bought a fan, Papst, real robust German thing. The finals were probably cooler than the rest of the rig. BOth fan and rig are still running smoothly. :-) Blowing the air out seems to be the key factor in this. Thanks again,
