On the journal boot log I noticed that the first boot hangs just before this line: apr 22 09:08:27 elric kernel: [Firmware Bug]: ACPI(VGA) defines _DOD but not _DOS i.e., the above line is missing in the log for the failed boot while it is present in the log for the subsequent successful boot.
