Yes, that is correct, however there is no good "technical" reason
for someone having to manually intervene and configure their
video card by hand - if I can make the computer do it for them.
Not doing so is a failure on the part of the system.  I want to
fix that, especially since it is a hot topic on our tech support
lines, and also in bugzilla.  IMHO it is a bug.
