How is that an argument against DRI implementing S3TC?  If the
distribution vendors don't want to ship it because of liability
concerns, then they don't have to.  Red Hat did this with the MP3
software in 8.0, for example.  You aren't arguing that free software
MP3 implementations shouldn't have been written in the first place, are
you?
