I've noticed, over the past few months of occaisionally using FreeBSD,
that if I have to quit out of X, and relaunch the server, quite often I'm
stuck with Indirect Rendering.

With some experimenting, it appears that /dev/dri/card0 gets locked and is
in accessible the next time the X server starts (though this isn't
consistent... Sometimes, killing the X server and restarting it doesn't
result in this problem).

Unfortunately, when it gets into this situation, there doesn't appear to
be anything I can do other than reboot. I am unable to unload the radeon
kernel module, lsof insists nothing is using /dev/dri/card0, and ps isn't
show any unusual stray processes.

As I'm spending more and more time in FreeBSD, this is becoming a serious
problem for me. Is there anything else someone can suggest that I try? I
am using XFree86 4.3.0. I have yet to grab the anything from CVS recently
(mostly due to the SF cvs problems), so, in fact, this problem may already
be fixed. If that's the case, though, I'd like to confirm this before I
go fight SF :-)
