well, seeing as how using AGP requires a specialized driver anyway, I dont
see the problem :-}


in an ideal world, there would be
/dev/agpgart0
/dev/agpgart1
/dev/agpgartn

and there would be an ioctl to return a card ID similar to the ID system
that XFree uses, of X:X:X
(I forget exactly what that is, though;   bus:slot:function ?)


Then you'll know, even in a multicard situation, which card(s) have an agp
bus available, and which do not.
