When I started working on the R300 driver, I did some similar work so that the R300 driver should in theory be able to handle R200 as well (this R200 support has certainly gone to hell by now because of all the hacking that has been going on).

Well, it may very well be that R200 support is still there. AFAIK, we only added or modified files starting with r300, so if it worked before it should still work now.


Of course, it is having the two sets of files that the unified driver is trying to get away from.
