Any ideas before I open this as a bug report?
There are already two bugs about this (different drivers, but same cause):
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5601
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2365

I've also noticed that doing the same thing (rigt clicking on a light
souce) on any r300 card I have will cause blender to seg fault using the
latest r300 drivers from CVS.
Might also be related.

I'll refrain from opening another bug for the r300 driver then. Is there any information that I can give (and that the developers don't already have) to help track down this bug.
I've tracked this down to an issue with not reinstating the vertex format correctly after a raster fallback (blender uses rendermode gl_select) in the radeon and r200 driver. Since r300 seems to happen to handle raster fallbacks differently, it looks like a different bug there.
