Hello list,
We have some 500 or so Supermicro 6014-L which feature the 300ESB SATA
controller on-board. The system does work when BIOS is set to PATA
emulation, however, since it does not think it is SATA, "cfgadm" does
not list them either. So we have the situation where all hardware is
hot-swappable SATA drives, but Solaris will not let us hot-swap.
Are there any solutions as to make cfgadm recognise this device as SATA?
As far as I know, the current Solaris has no way to support this
controller working as native SATA mode, so it doesn't support hot-swap
function.
