Because the group responsible for it at Sun has made it _very_ clear
that any attempt to replace it in ON _WILL_ be denied (my
understanding was it was actually a much stronger threat than that
even).  They don't want anyone touching the existing code, they don't
want anyone else replacing what they have, nor do they want to play in
the Opensolaris world.

Shame really, from the programming manual, it seems like it has a lot
of features that would integrate quite well with crossbow (which we're
going to try to do with our version, though we won't have the benefit
of any errata -- while the programming guide was opened, there appears
to be no published errata, only a few hints in things like ce.h that
do get delivered).
