Hi, I would like to make a sandbox for drizzle, and I managed to do the first step, i.e. to build a binary tarball, and to manually create a sandbox in an arbitrary directory. Before I put much effort into creating a sandbox maker, I would like to know which plans we have for the following:
* the replacement for drizzled_safe (which is currently badly broken). Monty said something about creating an angel, but I don't know the time frame; * a script to create standard binary tarballs (I did something that works for me and I can push it into a tree unless there are already plans to do it in some specific way); The above points are indispensable to create a sandbox, and allow anyone to test drizzle in different conditions, in a much friendlier environment than the one in the test suite. Nice to have, to plan better the next steps are: * instructions to compile drizzle with static libraries; * instructions to start replication with drizzle (if it is currently possible). The latest item will make possible to create replication sandboxes, for extensive testing.
