Hi everyone,

One of the things we did at MySQL was to use a sort of checklist in
developing and running randgen tests. We found this to be very useful in
organizing our thoughts and information regarding a feature under test.

To that end, I have posted an initial randgen testing template here:
http://drizzle.org/wiki/Randgen_test_template
This is intended for developing randgen tests. I will post a template for
particular runs later (ie testing the optimizer or replication, etc).

One of the features I'll be building a randgen test for is dump/restore,
thanks to Stewart's input and I will be keeping all such templates here:
http://drizzle.org/wiki/Randgen_test_plans

This is also useful in helping us to understand what the heck we were
thinking when we developed a particular test : )

Please feel free to provide input on either the template or the plan for
dump/restore: http://drizzle.org/wiki/Randgen_dump_restore

I will be filling out that template and beginning work soon as well as
posting tutorials for using the randgen with Drizzle. Please note that a
lot of the randgen's development was MySQL-centric, so there are some
modifications / adaptations to be made, but the team is very interested in
making this a tool for everyone to use and will work with anyone who wants
to.

Thanks,
Patrick
