Interesting. Well, should that not work, make sure that the
binary you are building is compatible with the libraries you
are using. I think Macports builds 32-bit by default on 10.5
and 64-bit for 10.6.

compiling boost from source, then pointing to that prefix. I believe
Lee is correct and its tied to the bug Monty will hopefully fix this

This should be working since my libs are installed through
Macports, too, and it configures fine. Looks like you have
an extra dash in your configure option. It should be:
./configure --with-lib-prefix=/opt/local
I just ran this on the latest trunk (revno 2082) and it was
successful.

So as you can see boost is infact installed. Anyone have any ideas on
whats going on here, or ways to avoid it?
