Sure, but what I meant was we have the required Boost RPMs in that repository too if do you want to compile it yourself (and I have now noted this in the wiki for the RHEL5 instructions). I have also filed a bug to get compilation documentation written for http://docs.drizzle.org/ at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/705576

also that error might be more helpful its ,  "Is boot new enough (1.40 required) ... 
no" . Then doing a simple  rpm -qa | grep boost -i  you would see  oh im on only 
1.33 not 1.40 .

Just a thought to make things more friendly when   someone one el5 after 
release goes to compile it and says but I have boost installed.  Alternativly 
something like

Boost installed: 1.33>= 1.40  ...  no  would be even cleaner IMHO

That may be harder to do, Monty Taylor would know better than me since he designed out build system, but we can put out quite a verbose message there saying why there is a problem.
