Personally I think we should have a flag to be pasted on configure for this
such as "--ignore-warnings" , it could even default to no-ignore-warnings,
and a wiki page added to tell them how to bypass warnings causing errors on
special cases. Doing it automatically implied there not issues were found.

Subject: Re: [Drizzle-discuss] warnings==errors in tarballs

I'd rather we take a little bit of time to look at what is going on with ec2,
if its a rathole then consider doing this.

Hi all,

We're getting to that point where people are trying to download tarballs
and build on weird places like Amazon's hacked up ec2 linux images. Now,
being a reactionary zealot who likes to scream a lot, I'll obviously
take the opportunity to point out that it's most likely Amazon's fault
... but in the mean time I don't think it's overly useful to tell that
to users.

So, I'm suggesting we remove the warnings==error setting for distributed
tarballs. (we already support doing this in the build system)
Essentially, the way it works is that it looks for a .bzr dir... if it
finds one, score, you are a developer and should be notified of
warnings. If it doesn't - you're building from a tarball and it should
not bomb out on warnings.

Does anyone have strong opinions?

Monty
