In an off-list discussion I made a point to Daniel that comparing
similar version of InnoDB (or perhaps we are more alike XtraDB) makes
sense. Then the comparison becomes a comparison of MySQL server level
vs Drizzle server level on top of same InnoDB version. Such results
should be generally interesting and educational.

I think the original policy of Drizzle devs themselves not publishing
comparative benchmarks has served Drizzle well and avoided conflicts.
However, people want to see benchmarks. I believe it is okay if people
like Daniel and myself, who have not worked on any code that would
impact performance, can safely do it - we are clearly impartial wrt
that code.
