Yes I totally agree to: "The trunk should be our unstable development code base
and may even sometimes be broken" that is the reason why we should get a
release out and then create a 0.x branch for bug fixes etc. The rewrite and
merge of the different forks should happen in the trunk, but if we have a
stable release that does not matter too much. It is not to say that a broken
trunk is an optimal situation.
