Attached patch tested against current trunk (5386) and dspace 1.6.2
(it should work for previous 1.6.x versions too, but not tested)
Throws a 404 if requested handle doesn't resolve to a DSpaceObject
A patched 1.6.2 DisplayStatisticsServlet.java is also attached.
