+1 for migrating to GitHub I already use a private GitHub repository to host the DSpace codebase for "my" four repositories and it would help immensely to have the official DSpace code in GitHub too. I also believe that this can lower the threshold for community participation while still allowing the DSpace committers to have control over the quality of the official DSpace code.
