At irregular intervals, CollectionRecentSubmissions throws a
NullPointerException. The issue can be resolved by restarting Tomcat, but of
course this is impractical (once the problem appears it continues to do so
until Tomcat is restarted).

Attached is the cocoon logfile snippet with the stacktrace.
The problem does not appear for empty collections and seems to be unrelated to
whether Discovery is enabled or what the recent.submissions.count is set to in
dspace.cfg.
