I am surveying collaboration platforms in order to find out what my client
should eventually use as software.
Because I find it hard to find all features on the website, I have some
questions, i.e.:
1. Is it possible to, working on a project together, engage with other
industries on DSpace than just your own?
2. I am wondering if you are working on a project with three different
companies (though people at the companies together being one team)how you
would sign up? Because a project would be under one company right? But these
are three companies working together and all wanting to be each others
partners and have equal rights. They also work with clients in other
companies, who are not on those three teams (mentioned earlier). How would
this work?
3. can you tell me how many users you have?
4. API Access: is it possible sharing content between application and
communities (e.g. Twitter/Facebook/LinkedIn)
5. Is there the ability to comment on content?
6. How much storage is available on DSpace?
7. Is it possible to multi-user co-write/edit realtime Office documents
simultaneously across diverse formats?
8. Task management - see what day and time content is updated and show
history of changes?
9. Status updates user/work done/work with milestones/to-do's?
10. Receive (e-mail) alerts on content updates/comment updates you want?
11. E-mails to individuals and lists
12. Calendar: meetings/events/hand-ins with syncing capability
13. Open discussion: forum/easy access to discussion groups
14. Open discussion simultaneously: chat
15. Ability to save (professional) chats/messages?
16. Hold conference calls (more than two users)
17. To write blogs/share ideas
18. What is the maximum number of users?
19. Is there firewall security protection against viruses and spam?
20. Does DSpace have the ability to use on mobile devices (e.g.
iPhone/Android)?
I realize these are many questions, but they are important for my research.
I am sorry I could not find the answers to these myself.
