Hello Peter

Your solution is great and help us a lot to integrate our dspace repository
with ItunesU. Thank you very much, I made a suggestion some time ago in your
old solution to make podcast to add the ItunesU labels, and you have made the
changes and it will be included in the next release of dspace, only one thing
to say: Great Work!!

Have you implemented any solution to the ItunesU category code?

Thank you very much, and again, congratulations for your work.

Hi Francisco,

Recently we have added the ability for a collection or a community to be added
to the RSS feed which allows for iTunes U podcasting. The approach I took was
to use the collection's RSS feed, and alter it to support podcasting. I only
enable podcast feeds at the collection/community level. If it is important, you
could alter the Java code to make things podcastable at the entire site level,
based on the file-type. This is going to be one of the new features in DSpace
1.8 which releases next month.

https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-528

An example RSS feed from one of our podcast collections:
https://kb.osu.edu/dspace/feed/rss_2.0/1811/45174

Also, I've been in talks with Jill Vermillion from Apple's Education group, so
if anyone has materials that you'd like to podcast, join the conversation. I
believe that in iTunes, you can subscribe to a feed of audio, video, and PDF's.
So you could enable that feature for any of your collections that have those
materials.

You said that your need was to expose your entire repository. Sorry that I
haven't answered any of your questions about OAI, I've never touched it.
Technical questions are better to ask in dspace-tech.

Hello

We are going to start an ItunesU site. We need to provide some RSS files in
wich Itunes can find all the contents of our site.

We have thought about using a DSpace as repository for this system. In the
documentation we have seen the XSLT Crosswalk and we have find it very
interesting because we can translate from DIM to RSS Itunes format only with an
XSLT file.

We have created our XSLT file and we have setup an OAI Pluging so we can use
this crosswalk. The problem is that it add some headers and tags from the OAI
protocol that are not needed to our RSS.

For example:

<OAI-PMH xmlns="http://www.openarchives.org/OAI/2.0/";
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance";
xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.openarchives.org/OAI/2.0/

How can I get this RSS files from Dspace without the OAI headers?

Thank you very much.
